SANAM BHALLA is an associate with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Washington, D.C., office, and a member of the Export Controls and Sanctions Practice. She also supports the firm’s work on forced labor matters.

Prior to joining ST&R Ms. Bhalla served as in-house counsel for a security consulting and business advisory firm, where she worked on import, export, and other compliance issues including under the ITAR, EAR, FCPA, and FARA. Earlier in her career she worked for a global healthcare company where her responsibilities included analyzing the effects of international trade agreements and advocating interests in trade negotiations and regulatory agencies. She also conducted research and reviewed trade legislation on import and export matters for a trade organization that represents U.S. companies engaged in global trade.

Ms. Bhalla holds a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law, with an emphasis in international trade, and a B.A. in international studies, political science, and Spanish from Washington & Jefferson College. She is proficient in Hindi and Spanish and is a member of the bar in the District of Columbia and New York.
