There are currently no specific tariffs or quotas on personal protective equipment, medical consumables, and medical equipment, including devices.
However, the Secretary of Commerce initiated a Section 232 investigation on September 2, 2025, into whether imports of such items threaten to impair national security. Comments from interested parties are due by October 17, 2025.
