MATTHEW GOLDBERG is an associate with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the New York office. His practice focuses on helping clients secure duty-saving benefits through import valuation strategies, including first sale valuation. He also supports clients across the full range of customs and trade litigation matters.
Before joining ST&R, Mr. Goldberg was a commercial litigation associate, where he handled matters involving surety bonds, insurance coverage, lien foreclosure, and bankruptcy. In that role, he regularly analyzed financial records, developed litigation strategy, and appeared in court on behalf of clients. Earlier in his career, he advised early-stage businesses and online investment platforms on acquisitions, employment and asset purchase agreements, noncompetition and nondisclosure agreements, capital raising, and investor accreditation.
Mr. Goldberg’s international experience includes supporting global marketing and product launches for a Mexican food and spirits company. He researched market trends, identified consumer behavior, and gained exposure to consumer markets and production practices in Mexico. He gained proficiency in Spanish through these roles and his volunteer work as an English teacher in Colombia.
Mr. Goldberg holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and a B.A. in international relations and international development from Tulane University. He is admitted to practice in New York.
