AMADI ANENE is Of Counsel for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Washington, D.C., office. His practice is focused on all aspects of customs, export controls, sanctions, and international trade law.

Prior to joining ST&R Mr. Anene founded his own company focused on counseling clients on trade regulatory and international law issues. That endeavor followed a near six-year stint practicing international trade law with a large firm. Earlier in his career he was appointed to serve in President Obama’s administration as the senior advisor to the head of the Small Business Administration, where his work included assisting small businesses with exporting. He also worked as an associate for a major consulting firm focusing on advanced analytics and financial services.

Mr. Anene holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government, and a B.A. in environmental science and public policy from Harvard University. He is an adjunct instructor in the international business department at the American University Kogod School of Business and a security fellow at the Truman National Security Project. He has a professional working knowledge of Spanish.
