AMIT CHHABRA is Of Counsel for Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the New York office. He advises clients on national security and foreign policy laws including export controls, sanctions, and compliance investigations.
Mr. Chhabra has over 20 years’ experience counseling clients on export controls, sanctions, trade policy, forced labor, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, and foreign investment matters. Earlier in his career he worked with other firms on regulatory investigations involving international mergers and acquisitions, commercial litigation, and government procurement. He has also served as a trade fellow at the Department of State, where he advised the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs on defense policy, technology, export controls, and intelligence matters.
Mr. Chhabra holds a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and a B.A. in U.S. history and foreign policy from Cornell University. He is admitted to the bar in New York and Connecticut and is a member of the New York City Bar Association, the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Law and National Security, and the American Society of International Law. He speaks French, German, Spanish, and Hindi.
