LARRY T. ORDET is a member of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Miami office, and serves on the Firm’s Operating Committee. Mr. Ordet concentrates his practice on general customs compliance matters, with particular emphasis on tariff classification, NAFTA duty deferral and preference program qualification issues. He has worked extensively on WCO tariff classification issues involving the modification of the Harmonized System and related Explanatory Notes.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Ordet served as a senior attorney with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. During his tenure at Customs headquarters he was responsible for preparing rulings and internal memoranda regarding the interpretation of many aspects of customs law, including classification, drawback, bonded warehouses, foreign-trade zones, temporary importation under bond and protest procedures. He also has significant experience in the application of NAFTA and other trade agreements.
Mr. Ordet holds a J.D. (cum laude) from Nova Southeastern Law School and a B.S. degree from the University of Florida. He is a member of the bar in Florida.
