Chile

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative reports that on Sept. 3 Chile’s legislature approved a bilateral agreement that ensures that current and future U.S. exporters of meats and cheeses will continue to be able to use certain terms – including parmesan, gruyere, feta, cheddar, gouda, provolone, prosciutto, and salami – in Chile going forward. USTR notes that this agreement will be treated as an integral part of the U.S.-Chile free trade agreement, including for the purposes of dispute settlement.
