Background

The Drug Enforcement Administration has announced plans to publish a temporary order placing two synthetic benzimidazole-opioid substances (including their isomers, esters, ethers, salts, and salts of isomers, esters, and ethers) in schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.

- N-pyrrolidino metonitazene

- N-pyrrolidino protonitazene

When it is issued, this order will impose the administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions and regulatory controls applicable to schedule I substances on the importation, exportation, manufacture, distribution, reverse distribution, possession, research, conduct of instructional activities, and chemical analysis of these substances.
