Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has set Feb. 9, 2024, as the due date for payment of the annual customs broker permit user fee, which for 2024 will be $174.80 (up from $163.71).

This fee is assessed for each customs broker permit held by an individual, partnership, association, or corporation. It is payable for each calendar year for a national permit held by a broker. If it is not paid on time the national permit is revoked by operation of law.

CBP is also announcing that the eCBP portal, an online system for processing electronic payments of licensed customs broker fees and submissions, is expected to be open for the collection of annual customs broker permit user fee payments starting Nov. 29. As of that date brokers may submit this fee either through the eCBP portal or at the processing Center.
