Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is issuing monthly updates of various trade statistics. Highlights for April 2025 (compared to March) include the following.

- processed more than three million entry summaries (unchanged) valued at more than $284 billion (down 19.3 percent)

- stopped 140 shipments (down 66.8 percent) valued at more than $3.65 million (up 58.7 percent) for further examination based on the suspected use of forced labor

- seized 2,613 shipments (up 43.0 percent) that contained counterfeit goods valued at more than $502 million (down 45.1 percent)

- completed 33 audits (down 53.5 percent) that identified $117 million (down 62.3 percent) in duties and fees owed to the U.S. government

- collected over $18 million (down 63.3 percent) of this identified revenue and from previous fiscal years’ assignments
