Background

The federal agencies listed below are proposing new, revised, or continued information collections concerning the following.

Bureau of Industry and Security

- technology letter of explanation, which provides a written description of technology proposed for export and allows BIS to evaluate the impact of licensing that export (comments due by June 15)

Federal Maritime Commission

- empty containers ready for use by location – a new information collection that will collect from the top 12 ocean common carriers (1) daily data on empty containers on a weekly basis and (2) a two-week outlook for containers ready for use at 30 intermodal locations, including inland dry ports, intermodal container transfer facilities, and marine terminals (comments due by July 24)
