Tuna
U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the calendar year 2026 tariff-rate quota quantity for tuna fish in airtight containers. Specifically, CBP has determined that 16,364,101 kilograms of tuna may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2026, at the six percent duty rate under HTSUS 1604.14.22. Excess amounts will be dutiable at a rate of 12.5 percent under HTSUS 1604.14.30.
Poultry
Effective May 30 the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service removed restrictions on imports of poultry and related products originating from Aomori prefecture in Japan that had been imposed due to concerns about highly-pathogenic avian influenza.
