Background

Poultry

Effective June 2, the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has removed restrictions on imports of poultry and related products originating from or transiting zone PCZ-264 in Ontario, Canada, that had been imposed due to concerns about highly-pathogenic avian influenza.

Apples

APHIS has drafted a pest risk assessment describing potential quarantine pests associated with the importation of apple (Malus spp.) plants from Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. APHIS is accepting any information that might lead it to revise the draft assessment before it identifies pest mitigations and proceeds with the commodity import approval process.
