The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued an order denying for seven years the export privileges of a U.S. individual convicted of willfully exporting defense articles to the Netherlands without a State Department license or authorization. The articles at issue, which are all designated as defense articles on the U.S. Munitions List, include image intensifiers and a thermal imaging monocular.
Under this order, neither this individual nor anyone acting on his behalf may directly or indirectly participate in any way in any transaction involving any commodity, software, or technology exported or to be exported from the U.S. that is subject to the Export Administration Regulations. The individual has also been placed on the State Department’s debarred list and sentenced to probation and $1.85 million in restitution.
