Background

The International Trade Administration and/or International Trade Commission have recently announced the following actions in antidumping and/or countervailing duty cases.

Aluminum containers – initiation of country-wide inquiries to determine whether imports of disposable aluminum containers, pans, trays, and lids completed in Thailand and Vietnam using aluminum foil manufactured in China are circumventing the AD/CVD orders on aluminum containers from China

Engines – initiation of inquiry to determine whether certain models of vertical shaft engines exported from China are circumventing the AD/CVD orders on vertical shaft engines and parts thereof from China

Tires – net subsidy rate of 125.5 percent in final results of administrative review of CVD order on passenger vehicle and light truck tires from China for the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023

Tungsten shot – final affirmative CVD determination on tungsten shot from China, with net subsidy rates of 55.64 and 292.84 percent

Uncoated paper – dumping margin of 10.92 percent in preliminary results of administrative review of AD order on uncoated paper from Portugal for the period March 1, 2023, through Feb. 29, 2024
