Background

The Foreign-Trade Zones Board issued a final rule Feb. 8 adopting minor modifications to its regulations mainly to provide flexibility on the method to submit application fees effective from March 11. The prior regulations required submitting application fees by check, but the changes allow for the submission of multiple forms of electronic payments in addition to paper checks.

Other revisions in the final rule update the regulatory language to provide clarification and reflect current practices. Additionally, the FTZ Board is confirming it has met the information collection requirements from a 2012 final rule.

Separately, the FTZ Board has approved an application for subzone status for the Helena Industries LLC facility within FTZ 26 in Cordele, Ga.
