Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection will hold a Forced Labor Technical Expo March 14-15 in Washington, D.C., to highlight new technologies and initiatives on this topic.

CBP states that this event will feature industry presentations on the latest technologies in supply chain transparency to help improve trade transparency and compliance with trade laws, with an emphasis on compliance with 19 USC 1307 (which bans imports made with forced labor) and the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act.

The expo will also include panels composed of personnel from CBP, the Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. government agencies that will address federal forced labor initiatives and future innovations in supply chain transparency.

Members of the public wishing to participate in this event in person should register no later than March 1. The expo will also be available globally through a live stream. Instructions on registering, the live stream link, and the agenda for the expo are available here.
