Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has set Feb. 24, 2023, as the due date for payment of the annual customs broker user fee, which for 2023 will be $163.71. This fee is assessed for each customs broker permit held by an individual, partnership, association, or corporation. It is payable for each calendar year for a national permit held by a broker.

This rule reflects the elimination of broker districts, district permits, and associated user fees. As a result, as of Dec. 19 all permit holders will hold one national permit only and must pay annual user fees only for that permit.
