Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the calendar year 2024 tariff-rate quota quantity for tuna fish in airtight containers. Specifically, CBP has determined that 15,226,726 kilograms of tuna (up from 13,377,875 in 2023) may be entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption during the period Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2024, at the six percent duty rate under HTSUS 1604.14.22. Excess amounts will be dutiable at a rate of 12.5 percent under HTSUS 1604.14.30.
