Background

The International Trade Administration and/or International Trade Commission have recently announced the following actions in antidumping and/or countervailing duty cases.

Carbon bricks – rescission of administrative review of AD order on magnesia carbon bricks from China for the period Sept. 1, 2023, through Aug. 31, 2024, and instruction to CBP to assess AD duties on entries of subject goods at the applicable cash deposit rates

Quartz surface products – sunset review determination that revocation of AD order on quartz surface products from India would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of dumping at margins up to 5.15 percent

Scope rulings – applications filed in July for rulings on the scope of the following AD/CVD orders

- magnesium metal from China (AD)

- mobile access equipment and subassemblies thereof from China (AD/CVD)

- pasta from Italy (AD/CVD)

- stainless steel flanges from India (AD/CVD)

Slag pots – final affirmative AD/CVD determinations on slag pots from China, with dumping margin of 294.43 percent and net subsidy rate of 226.16 percent

Thermal paper – dumping margin of zero in final results of administrative review of AD order on thermal paper from Germany for the period Nov. 1, 2022, through Oct. 31, 2023
