Tariffs. H.R. 2549 (introduced April 10 by Rep. Davidson, R-Ohio) would provide for congressional review of the imposition of duties and other trade measures by the executive branch.

China. The China Technology Transfer Control Act (H.R. 2594, introduced April 10 by Rep. Green, R-Tenn.) would control exports to China of certain technology and intellectual property important to U.S. national interests.

Shipping. H.R. 2586 would exempt certain non-contiguous trade from the coastwise laws. H.R. 2587 would provide a definition of “reasonable rate” for non-contiguous domestic ocean trade. H.R. 2588 would allow transportation of merchandise in non-contiguous trade on foreign-flag vessels. Each of these bills was introduced April 13 by Rep. Case, D-Hawaii.
