Background

A petition filed April 26 alleges that high-chrome cast iron grinding media from India is being sold at less than fair value in the U.S. and benefiting from countervailable subsidies. The alleged average dumping margin is 53.64 percent.

The product covered by this petition is chrome cast iron grinding media in spherical or ovoid shape, with an alloy composition of seven percent or more chromium content, that is produced through the casting method. This product is classified under HTSUS subheading 7325.91.0000.

The Department of Commerce and the International Trade Commission will next determine whether to launch AD and CV duty and injury investigations, respectively, on this product.
