U.S. Customs and Border Protection has established Jan. 14 as the new effective date of the mandatory transition of the following capabilities to the Automated Commercial Environment.
- drawback (filers will submit only entry type 47 for drawback entries, as entry types 41-46 will be consolidated to entry type 47 and will no longer be valid)
- duty deferral
- importer security filing
As a result, effective Jan. 14 transactions supporting these capabilities must be filed in and processed through ACE and submissions to the Automated Commercial System will no longer be supported.
CBP notes that the Jan. 14 deployment will not include manufacturer ID add, which must be deployed at the same time as foreign-trade zone admissions (e214s).
In addition, the ACE product code query will be removed from and no longer supported in ACE.
