Background

The Department of Commerce has released a new funding opportunity through the 2023 Market Development Cooperator Program to support projects up to $300,000 each aimed at generating U.S. exports, addressing trade barriers, enhancing U.S. industry competitiveness, and creating American jobs.

MDCP selects projects submitted by non-profit industry groups and other eligible entities and provides recipients with financial and technical assistance from the International Trade Administration’s global network of industry and trade experts on three- to five-year projects designed to create or sustain U.S. jobs through the export of goods and services produced in the U.S. Applicants must demonstrate how their projects will generate U.S. exports and support U.S. jobs.

To learn more about the program and application process, which includes an initial eligibility determination and preliminary counseling session with MDCP program experts, visit trade.gov/mdcp or e-mail:mdcp@trade.gov. Applications will be accepted through June 20.
