Background

The International Trade Commission is accepting comments on specific ways it could improve its presentation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S.

The ITC states that in 2015 it deployed a document-oriented database application to fulfill its statutory mission of maintaining the HTSUS, with the goal of ensuring accuracy and reliability through internal controls and process consistency.

The ITC is now considering ways to improve or replace this application and the manner in which HTSUS and related tariff information is provided. To this end the ITC is seeking public input on user experience with the HTSUS and related tariff information, including the ability of users to navigate between parts of the HTSUS to find needed information, use HTSUS information for their needs, compare changes in the HTSUS, and find and access HTSUS information.
