U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced the modernization of the Automated Commercial Environment secure data portal in several phases over 2022 as well as the extension of the ACE export manifest for air cargo test.

ACE Portal Modernization. The first phase of this effort, to be deployed Jan. 22, will include a new login screen, a new home page, and upgraded account information display and edit features. Users will have access to the legacy ACE portal through a link in the modernized ACE portal. The legacy portal will be decommissioned once all functionality has been transitioned to the modernized portal, and CBP will continuously synchronize data between both versions during the transition period.
Following the successful deployment of phase 1, CBP will transition additional functionality into the modernized portal until all features of the legacy portal become available by approximately January 2023. Additional features to be transitioned include a complete set of links to other applications (available in the references section), account creation functionality, create/edit functionality for supporting account data, document management features, and user management/access tools.
Air Cargo Export Manifest Pilot Extension. The ACE export manifest for air cargo test, under which participants agree to submit export manifest data to CBP electronically at least four hours prior to loading of the cargo onto the aircraft in preparation for departure from the U.S., is being extended for an additional two years. This voluntary pilot was launched July 10, 2015, and it was modified and extended Aug. 14, 2017.
