Efforts to renew the AGOA program continue in Capitol Hill. A recent Financial Times opinion article suggested changing the name of AGOA to the “Strategic Economic Partnership with Africa Act” or STEP with Africa Act. Whether is AGOA or STEP, Congress should renew these preferences right away.
