Background

In connection with its annual review of product eligibility under the Generalized System of Preferences, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has accepted petitions seeking the following.

- addition of roses (HTSUS 0603.11.00, 0603.11.0010, 0603.11.0030, and 0603.11.0060) to the list of eligible goods

- removal of rice (HTSUS 1006.10.00, 1006.20.20, 1006.20.40, 1006.30.10, 1006.30.90, and 1006.40.00) from the list of eligible goods

No public hearing on these petitions will be held, but written comments may be submitted through May 27. In addition, the GSP Subcommittee may pose questions on such comments, and commenters will be given time to respond.

USTR anticipates that any modifications to the list of GSP-eligible articles resulting from this review will be proclaimed by the president by Nov. 1.
