Background

Effective Oct. 20 the Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service lifted restrictions on imports of avian commodities from zone PCZ-FV6 in British Columbia, Canada, that had been imposed last June following a detection of virulent Newcastle disease. However, APHIS continues to maintain import restrictions on zones in Canada due to the detection of highly-pathogenic avian influenza.
