Short Supply Requests Filed on Lining Fabrics

The Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements has received short supply requests alleging that the following fabrics are not available in commercial quantities in a timely manner from potential suppliers in the CAFTA-DR region.

– polyester/cuprammonium dyed twill lining fabric (classified under HTSUS 5407.92.10)

– polyester/cuprammonium yarn-dyed twill lining fabric (classified under HTSUS 5407.93.20)

– viscose printed twill lining fabric (classified under HTSUS 5408.24.90)

– polyester/viscose dyed twill lining fabric (classified under HTSUS 5515.11.00)

The petitioners are requesting that these fabrics be added to the short supply list in Annex 3.25 of CAFTA-DR in unrestricted quantities, which would allow duty-free imports of apparel made in CAFTA-DR countries with these fabrics regardless of where they are sourced. Responses with an offer to supply these fabrics are due no later than Aug. 28.
