Leading international trade law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., announced today the addition of attorneys David J. Craven and Saichang (Sai) Xu to its Chicago office.
David J. Craven, who has practiced international trade and customs law for 30 years, brings a broad range of experience in antidumping and countervailing duty issues to ST&R. A Martindale-Hubbell A-V rated attorney, Mr. Craven is fluent in the nuances of the numerous government agencies responsible for administering U.S. trade and tariff laws. He has represented clients from Europe, Asia and the Middle East in cases involving products ranging from industrial materials to chemicals to food and wine products. He has counseled clients on the cross-border impacts of trade and service marks and was an integral part of the project to rewrite the preferential rules of origin for the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa. He has also lectured on topics such as export control issues and the North American Free Trade Agreement and written articles on various aspects of U.S. trade law.
Saichang Xu joins ST&R as Of Counsel. Ms. Xu’s practice focuses on trade remedy law, import/export regulatory compliance and U.S.-China trade and investment matters. Educated in both China and the United States, Ms. Xu’s understanding of the differences between the legal systems and cultures of the U.S. and China make her a valuable resource for companies operating in both countries.
“David and Sai exemplify why ST&R has maintained its position as a leading international trade law firm for nearly 40 years,” explains Larry Ordet, a member of the firm who serves on its Operating Committee. “Like the exceptional lawyers, trade advisors, trade analysts and auditors who are part of the ST&R global team, David and Sai offer our clients unmatched professionalism and expertise in international trade.”
