MIKA M. McLAFFERTY is a member of Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg and is based in New York. She assists clients with a wide range of import and export issues, including classification, valuation (including first sale), Section 301 and other tariffs, marking/origin, labeling, antidumping scope inquiries, and other government agency requirements.

Prior to joining ST&R, Ms. McLafferty served for more than a decade as Counsel with another firm. In this position she helped clients perform compliance reviews, perform due diligence, respond to CF-28s and -29s, respond to seizure and penalty notices, file prior disclosures, conduct line reviews, and participate in audits. She also guided clients through developing and implementing internal compliance and duty savings programs, filing protests and prior disclosures, requesting binding rulings, and seeking tariff exclusions. Her assistance has led to millions of dollars in duty refunds for importers of various product categories.

Ms. McLafferty holds a J.D. from St. Johns University School of Law and a B.S. (magna cum laude) in communications from Florida State University. She has been admitted to the bar in New York state and is a member of the New York Bar Association. She is conversant in Spanish.
