ERNEST TONG is an export controls and classification consultant with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., based in Greenville, S.C. He specializes in export classifications for complex parts, technologies, and software.
Mr. Tong has nearly 15 years’ experience working for a large, diverse, global corporation determining export classifications, improving the efficiency of classification processes, developing software for managing classification data, and classification training. He is familiar with export regulations in the U.S. and many other countries. He also served six years on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s transportation advisory committee for export control.
Mr. Tong has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (aka Kettering University) and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
