About The Webinar

Do you know where your product is from? More importantly, do you know where CBP thinks your product is from? The origin of an imported product has always been a critical piece of information to ensure you are properly declaring and marking goods that are imported into the U.S. However, the imposition of Section 301 duties on Chinese-origin goods has increased the significance of origin determinations - at the same time that global supply chains are becoming more complex. Products often include components or sub-assemblies from multiple countries and undergo varying degrees of processing in each location.

This webinar will provide an overview of the rules to determin the correct country of origin and marking for non-preferential purposes. Understanding the proper origin is critical to ensure compliance, but also to use the rules to assess possible strategies to legally reduce or avoid tariffs by changing or shifting portions of the production process to effect a change in origin.
