About The Webinar

The current focus of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Office of Regulatory Audit and Agency Advisory Services is importer audit surveys (now referred to as risk and analysis survey assessments). Rather than conduct an in-depth, time-consuming focused assessment, CBP is using audit surveys to more effectively utilize its resources. While an audit survey may sound like a great opportunity for importers to avoid a more intensive review, it could in fact result in a full-blown audit or other enforcement action if the importer does not take it seriously. This webinar is designed to prepare companies to undergo an audit survey or other CBP audit by reviewing how to implement and maintain an effective import compliance program as well as how to recognize potential import compliance risks.

Key Topics

  • Regulatory Audit’s mission, structure, and legal authority to audit
  • Regulatory Audit’s types of engagements and process for identifying and selecting audit candidates
  • how audit surveys differ from audits, their purpose, how they are conducted, and issues to be aware of
  • audit survey focus issues
  • import program red flags
  • consideration of prior disclosures

Please note we do not accept payment via American Express.
