The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is accepting comments through May 20 on the issues raised in a World Trade Organization dispute filed by Vietnam concerning U.S. measures that purportedly affect the importation of Pangasius seafood products, which are sold as basa, tra, or swai. Vietnam cites a number of U.S. laws concerning the marketing, labeling, and inspection of such products upon import and states that they appear to be inconsistent with U.S. obligations under the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures.
