The Bureau of Industry and Security has issued an order suspending for ten years the export privileges of a woman convicted of knowingly and willfully causing firearms designated as defense articles on the U.S. Munitions List to be exported from the U.S. to Thailand without the required State Department license or written approval. This woman was previously sentenced to ten months’ imprisonment, one year of supervised release and a $600 assessment.

As a result, until Aug. 26, 2024, neither this woman nor anyone on her behalf may directly or indirectly participate in any way in any transaction involving any commodity, software or technology exported or to be exported from the U.S. that is subject to the Export Administration Regulations. BIS is also revoking all licenses issued pursuant to the EAR or the Export Administration Act in which this woman had an interest at the time of her conviction.
