The International Trade Commission on Oct. 25, 2013, initiated a Section 337 investigation of certain optical disc drives, components thereof and products containing the same from various sources. The ITC subsequently terminated the investigation as to the application of numerous patent claims as well as with respect to various respondents based on settlement agreements. The administrative law judge assigned to this case on April 27 found that the complainant did not have standing to assert certain additional patents in this proceeding. The ITC has affirmed the ALJ’s finding with modified reasoning and terminated the investigation in its entirety.
