U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Airport and Seaport Inspections User Fee Advisory Committee will hold an open meeting June 2 in Washington, D.C. This committee advises CBP on matters related to the performance of airport and seaport inspections coinciding with the assessment of an agriculture, customs or immigration user fee. The upcoming meeting will report the work completed by the Financial Assessment and Options Subcommittee, which will provide an overview of current worldwide user fees being paid by industry and how industry collects and transmits user fees to CBP, and the Processes Subcommittee, which will discuss developing advice that would enhance CBP operational efficiencies.
Public comments on the issues to be considered by the committee prior to the formulation of recommendations are due no later than May 25. Meeting participants may attend either in person or via webinar after pre-registering using the links provided.
