Background

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a final rule amending and extending through Nov. 21, 2026, the import restrictions on archaeological and ecclesiastical ethnological materials from Greece. Covered materials include the following.

- stone sculpture (including statues and furniture), vessels, tools and weapons, and seals and beads

- metal sculpture (including statues and sheet metal), vessels, personal ornaments, tools, weapons and armor, seals and tokens, and coins

- ceramic sculpture, vessels, inscriptions, and lamps

- items of bone, ivory, wood, and other organics, including statues, seals, stamps, musical instruments, and furniture

- glass vessels and beads

- textiles

- papyrus documents

- paintings

- mosaics
