The value of monthly freight flows between the U.S. and its NAFTA partners totaled $100.6 billion in November, virtually unchanged from October but up 10.5 percent from a year earlier, according to Department of Transportation statistics.
The value of total U.S. trade with Canada rose 1.6 percent from October to $51.3 billion and was up 11.2 percent from a year earlier. U.S. trade with Mexico was valued at $49.4 billion in November, down 3.0 percent from October but up 9.7 percent from October 2016.
Vehicles and parts retained their position as the top commodity category transported between the U.S. and Canada across all modes of transportation but lost the top spot with respect to U.S.-Mexico trade to electrical machinery.
