The State Department will hold an open meeting May 24 in Arlington, Va., to prepare for the 42nd session of the International Maritime Organization's Facilitation Committee, which will be held at IMO headquarters in the United Kingdom June 5-8. Members of the public may attend the State Department meeting or participate via teleconference.

Agenda items to be considered at the IMO meeting include application of the single-window concept; review and revision of the IMO Compendium on Facilitation and Electronic Business; developing guidance for authentication, integrity, and confidentiality of content for the purpose of exchange via a maritime single window; updating the guidelines for setting up a single window system in maritime transport; and technical cooperation activities related to the facilitation of maritime traffic.
