U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued the draft agenda for the 67th session of the World Customs Organization’s Harmonized System Committee, which will be held virtually April 12-30. The HSC’s responsibilities include issuing classification decisions on the interpretation of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System, which can take the form of published tariff classification opinions or amendments to the Explanatory Notes. The committee also considers amendments to the legal text of the Harmonized System.

The HSC is slated to consider a number of issues at its upcoming meeting, including the status of and challenges associated with HS 2022, the scope of the seventh HS review cycle, and national practices regarding advance rulings.
