The Drug Enforcement Administration is accepting comments through Sept. 20 on a proposal to add the antidepressant amineptine (7-[(10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-
yl)amino]heptanoic acid), including its salts, isomers, and salts of isomers, to schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. This rule would impose the administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions and regulatory controls applicable to schedule I substances on the importation, exportation, manufacture, distribution, possession, research, conduct of instructional activities, and chemical analysis of this substance.
