The International Trade Commission has recently announced the following actions in intellectual property rights infringement investigations.

Beverage dispensing systems – in patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1130 of beverage dispensing systems and components thereof, Nov. 26 deadline for comments on (a) the form of remedy (if any) that should be ordered, (b) the effects of any such remedy on public health and welfare, competitive conditions in the U.S. economy, U.S. production of like or directly competitive articles, and U.S. consumers, and (c) the amount of the bond under which infringing articles could continue to enter the U.S. during the 60-day period the president has to review any ITC-ordered remedy

Earpiece devices – in investigation 337-TA-1121, issuance of (a) general exclusion order prohibiting the unlicensed importation of earpiece devices and components thereof that infringe one or more specified patent claims, (b) a limited exclusion order prohibiting one respondent from importing infringing goods, and (c) cease and desist orders against certain respondents that were found in default or did not participate in the investigation

Height-adjustable desks – in patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1125 of height-adjustable desk platforms and components thereof, Nov. 13 deadline for comments on (a) the form of remedy (if any) that should be ordered, (b) the effects of any such remedy on public health and welfare, competitive conditions in the U.S. economy, U.S. production of like or directly competitive articles, and U.S. consumers, (c) and the amount of the bond under which infringing articles could continue to enter the U.S. during the 60-day period the president has to review any ITC-ordered remedy

LED products – termination without imposition of import restrictions of patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1163 of light-emitting diode products, systems, and components thereof based on withdrawal of the complaint

Lithium-ion batteries – institution of patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1181 of lithium-ion battery cells, battery modules, battery packs, components thereof, and products containing the same (complainants LG Chem Ltd., LG Chem Michigan Inc., and Toray Industries Inc.; respondents located in Korea and the U.S.)
