Aerogel Insulation Materials. The International Trade Commission is reviewing a final initial determination in investigation 337-TA-1003 that the importation, sale for importation, and sale within the U.S. after importation of composite aerogel insulation materials and methods for manufacturing the same are violating patents asserted by Aspen Aerogels Inc. The presiding administrative law judge has recommended the issuance of a limited exclusion order with a certification provision prohibiting the entry of infringing goods.
The ITC is seeking comments by Dec. 15 on (1) the form of remedy, if any that should be ordered; (2) the effects of any such remedy on the public health and welfare, competitive conditions in the U.S. economy, U.S. production of like or directly competitive articles, and U.S. consumers; and (3) the amount of the bond under which infringing goods could continue to enter the U.S. during the 60-day period the president has to review any ITC-ordered remedy.
Electrical Connectors. In patent infringement investigation 337-TA-1043 of electrical connectors, components thereof, and products containing the same, the ITC is reviewing an initial determination granting the respondents’ motion for summary determination that all patent claims asserted by J.S.T. Corporation are invalid.
