Background

The Drug Enforcement Administration has issued an order that temporarily schedules the synthetic cannabinoid methyl 2-(1-(4-fluorobenzyl)-1H- indazole-3-carboxamido)-3-methylbutanoate [FUB-AMB, MMBFUBINACA, AMB-FUBINACA] and its optical, positional, and geometric isomers, salts, and salts of isomers into schedule I pursuant to the temporary scheduling provisions of the Controlled Substances Act.

As a result, this substance is subject to the regulatory controls and administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions applicable to the manufacture, distribution, reverse distribution, importation, exportation, possession, or conduct of research, instructional activities, or chemical analysis of schedule I controlled substances. This order is effective Nov. 3 and will be in effect for two years, with a possible extension of one year, pending completion of the permanent scheduling process.
