U.S. Customs and Border Protection has issued a final rule extending through July 16, 2022, restrictions on imports of specified cultural materials from Cyprus. These restrictions apply to (a) Byzantine and Post-Byzantine ritual and ecclesiastical ethnological material ranging in date from approximately the 4th century through 1850 A.D., including objects of metal, wood, ivory and bone, textiles, stone (mosaics), and frescoes (wall paintings), and (b) pre-Classical and Classical archaeological objects ranging in date from approximately the 8th millennium B.C. to 330 A.D., including objects of ceramic, stone, and metal, such as vessels, sculpture, coins of Cypriot types, mosaics, inscriptions, architectural elements, and jewelry.
