The Drug Enforcement Administration is accepting comments on separate proposed rules that would place the following substances into schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.

- zipeprol (1-methoxy-3-[4-(2-methoxy-2-phenylethyl)piperazin-1-yl]-1-phenylpropan-2-ol) and its isomers, esters, ethers, salts, and salts of isomers, esters, and ethers (comments due by July 13)

- 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-N-methylpropan-2-amine (para-methoxymethamphetamine, PMMA) and its salts, isomers, and salts or isomers (comments due by June 15)

These rules would impose the administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions and regulatory controls applicable to schedule I substances on the importation, exportation, manufacture, distribution, possession, research and conduct of instructional activities, and chemical analysis of these substances.
