Tennessee Zone Expansion. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has received an application from the Northwest Tennessee Regional Port Authority, grantee of FTZ 283, requesting authority to reorganize this zone to expand its service area. The zone currently has a service area that includes Dyer, Gibson, Haywood, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, Obion and Tipton counties and the applicant is now requesting authority to add Fayette, Hardeman and McNairy counties, adjacent to the Memphis U.S. Customs and Border Protection port of entry. Comments on this application are due no later than Oct. 17.
California Subzone Expansion. The FTZ Board has approved the expansion of subzone 18E to include a new 3.63 acre site in San Jose, Calif.
Tennessee Facility Request. The FTZ Board has received a notification of proposed production activity at the Wacker Polysilicon North America LLC facility within FTZ 134 in Charleston, Tenn., which is used for the production of polysilicon. Comments on this notification are due no later than Sept. 26. A separate application for subzone designation at this facility has also been submitted.
